Fruit of the Spirit Part 7
The word faithfulness comes from the Greek word Pistis which could be translated in the word fidelity which means a demonstration of continued loyalty. Pistis comes from the root word Pietho which means persuaded or come to trust. Therefore, Faithfulness can be defined as a demonstration of continued loyalty in one whom we’ve been persuaded to come to trust.
God is faithful, it's His character. He offers the Christian continued loyalty.
Humanity is faithless, it's in our character. However, faith in Jesus changes everything for the Christian. The Holy Spirit, in the believers life, is able to produce Godly attributes and one of the attributes the Spirit produces is Faithfulness. In Christ, the believer is able to experience God's faithfulness in His Word, His promises, His grace, His forgiveness, and His love. In return, the Spirit helps produce Faithfulness in how the believer loves and lives with God and others.
Thank you for listening to this message. We pray it increases your faith and assurance in the work of Christ.
